The 1000-acre farm constituting the University Agricultural Laboratory at California State University, Fresno, CA, USA provides a living and breathing laboratory for its 1200 students getting training in world-class agriculture. Located in the centre of a rich and diversified agricultural region in Central California, Fresno State leads the way in practicing and teaching diversified farming and promoting environmentally-friendly farming practices Students get to experience not only growing crops and raising animals but creating value for the products they produce and marketing them. UAL enterprise system is comprised of 27 diversified enterprises generating over $4.5 million in revenues. These enterprises fall under five major programs. viz. Animal Sciences; Plant Sciences; Viticulture and Enology; Food Processing; Retail and Support Operations. UAL enterprises provide employment for more than 150 students where they “learn and earn”.
