312 Symposium--State of Animal Manure and Onsite Septic Systems Wastewater Management On Water Resources and Environment. Part II

Oral Session
ASA Section: Environmental Quality Movement of excess nutrients from animal manure and byproducts, industrial wastes, and effluents from municipal and sewage treatment facilities into soil, air, and water can cause significant environmental problems. This symposium will cover (1) recent issues and advances in management practices, control technologies and decision tools for effective use of nutrients from organic waste and (2) synthesis of current and future state of the fate and transport of nitrogen, phosphorus, pathogens, pharmaceuticals and personal care products in areas served by onsite septic systems to devise solutions to protect water resources and public health.
