187-9 Production of Citric Fruits and Farmer`s Type At Colima, Mexico.

At the east side of Mexico, around 19 degrees north latitude, over the cost, citric fruits are produced by a great variety of farmers. Their outcome and revenue are different. The differences are produced by the different productions techniques that each farmer type uses for the productions of their citric plantations. Citric farmers were classified as enterprises, farmers and peasants. The enterprise producer was characterized for owing more than fifty hectares of citric plantations and machinery, farmers own between 10-30 hectares of citric plantations; and the peasants only own around 5-8 hectares of citric plantations. Their yields were different: 46, 35 and less than 20 tonnes per hectare of citric fruits, respectively. Also, enterprise producer hire people (pons) Their revenues, then, were also different. These differences are due to the different agriculture technique, the quality of the agriculture consumes (citric tree variety, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.), and their ability to reach the market.
