Session Description: Finding careers in the nonprofit (NGO) sector in crops, soils and agronomy is an interesting option for graduate students. Participants of this session will learn of the breadth of opportunities available to them, and how to find jobs in this sector. The first 10-15 minutes of the session will be a formal presentation of the nonprofit industry: What it is, size of employment, where you can find careers, and various opportunities, including international careers. This will be followed by a 40-45 minute panel discussion from 3-4 nonprofit industry representatives – including the pros and cons of working in NGOs. The final 30 minutes will touch on the differences in resumes for academia vs. nonprofits, how to get involved through volunteering and networking, and a Q&A session
