The Kansas Winter Wheat Performance Tests currently evaluate wheat varieties at 19 locations across Kansas. Identifying groups of locations that consistently rank varieties similarly can facilitate delimiting areas of adaptation and can provide a basis for data summaries. A data set was extracted from 1982-2002 performance test results to provide a common set of 9–20 varieties across 12-17 locations in each year. GGE biplots were used to form location groups that minimized cross-over interactions for each year. Although potential groupings of locations could be identified in individual years, location groupings from biplots were not consistent across years. However, frequency of common grouping over a 21-year period revealed sets of locations that had similar genotype rankings more than half the time. An alternative grouping of wheat test locations in Kansas is proposed.
