A three year soybean study was completed to investigate yield effects from planting date and variety maturity. One variety from a Group 2, 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5 was established at four different planting dates approximately two weeks apart. Experimental design was a randomized complete block with four replications. Plots were harvested at maturity for a given treatment. Earliest and latest maturity groups responded the most to early planting dates. Yields dropped significantly after the second planting date. Fuller season varieties had the largest yield from the later planting dates. Yields from the last planting date were dependent upon rainfall.
