Unsoda: Unsaturated Soil Hydraulic Property Database.

Todd H. Skaggs, M. Th. Van Genuchten, Marcel G. Schaap, and Peter J. Shouse. George E. Brown, Jr. Salinity Laboratory, USDA-ARS, 450 W Big Springs Rd., Riverside, CA 92507

Initially released in 1996, the UNSODA database contains unsaturated soil hydraulic properties (water retention, hydraulic conductivity, soil water diffusivity) and auxiliary data (particle-size distribution, bulk density, organic matter content, etc.) for more than 800 soils. With the recent launch of version 3.0, UNSODA has been transformed from a standalone desktop database into a Web-based application that may be executed over the Internet with a browser. We document new UNSODA capabilities including enhanced search and reporting features, as well as new functions that permit researchers to contribute experimental data to the UNSODA project.
