Oral Session
Z03 Water Availability and Use for Biofuel Crop Feedstock and Production--Invited Abstracts OnlyAs biofuel production increases, water use will also increase because 4 to 6 gallons are needed to produce each gallon of ethanol; plus the water needed to grow crops as an ethanol feedstock. Water use is significant considering that it is becoming a scarce resource on its own. Papers in this symposium are aimed at water use efficiency in biofuel production, including biofuel stock growth. The symposium is the 9th in a series developed jointly with the Soil and Water Conservation Society.
