Abstract:
As nitrogen costs have risen dramatically in recent years, multiple companies are developing new additives to improve the efficiency of nitrogen use for corn production across the Midwest.  The additives have marketed affects on both ammonia volatilization and nitrification.  The objective of this research was to compare the ability of various additives in different environments in the state of Ohio.  Some environments and application methods are more likely to show beneficial impacts due to decreased ammonia volatilization, but performance is variable and highly weather specific.  This poster will discuss five-site year’s worth of data where these additives have been tested.
