Abstract:
The Masters of Science in Agronomy Distance Education Program began offering courses in 1998 and over its 11 years, has faced many challenges all of which have influenced and improved the quality. The program currently has 110 active students and 60 graduates. The program’s strength is its cohesive structure. Courses were designed to work together to create a complete program of learning both informationally and visually. This oral presentation will outline the steps taken to produce the Masters of Science in Agronomy Program, look at features within the program that are unique, impact on students, and consider how the program impacts distance learning within the Agronomy Department at Iowa State University.
