Oral Session
S01 Soil PhysicsBiotic, abiotic and anthropogenic soil processes interact over a range of temporal and spatial scales affecting fluxes of water, solutes, and heat, and many biogeochemical processes, e.g., transformation and biomass development. We welcome contributions that investigate the influences of agricultural management or natural processes (e.g. shrink-swell and reconsolidation, burrowing animals, plant rooting) on soil physical properties and system states as well as related processes at their respective space-time scale combinations. Contributions should illustrate the importance of their specific observational and modeling scales and discuss what experimental and modeling adaptations are necessary to transfer knowledge between scales.
