253 Symposium--Global Importance and Progress of Reducing Anthropogenic Emissions of Nitrous Oxide From Cropping Systems: I

S04 Soil Fertility & Plant Nutrition Nitrogen fertilizer is responsible for much of the anthropogenic emmissions of nitrous oxide to the atmosphere. Speakers will address the current state of knowledge regarding known and theoretical impacts of nitrous oxide in the atmosphere and effective means of reducing emmissions from cropping systems. Contrasts to the feasibility and importnace of reducing nitrous oxide in comparison to CO2 will also be discussed.
