360 Symposium--Synthetic Fertilizer Use In Sustainable Cropping Systems: Benefits and Consequences

S04 Soil Fertility & Plant Nutrition Synthetic fertilizers have provided a tremendous return on investment by increasing crop yields and improving crop quality. However if used improperly and with overapplication comes the potential for negative environmental costs. Speakers will be selected to provide balanced views of both sides of the issue, regarding both the benefits and value of fertilizers and the potential environmental costs of fertilizer use.
