USDA at 150: A Look Back and Forward – focusing on the establishment of the Department, and compare and contrast societal issues and research challenges from the 1860s and present, as well as a discussion on what research and societal challenges we may face in the next 50 years and the role agricultural science may play in meeting those challenges.  The speaker will also highlight key accomplishments throughout the Department’s history and how several current projects are poised to make significant impacts in the near term.
