Soybean, Glycine max, are one of the most important crops in Tennessee, and ways to increase yield are continually being evaluated. Postemergent application of the herbicide lactofen early vegetative growth stages can damage the terminal of the plant causing increased branching and therefore increased branch pod numbers. A field study was conducted in Union City, TN, in 2012 to evaluate the application of lactofen at different rates and soybean growth stages to determine treatment applications resulting in increased soybean yield on multiple soybean cultivars.
