153 Symposium--Plant Analysis for Assessing Potential Yield Limitations

Oral Session
S08 Nutrient Management & Soil & Plant Analysis There has been a recent emphasis on plant analysis in the Midwestern USA. Total nutrient concentrations in plant tissue are correlated to crop yield to provide deficiency and sufficiency ranges. There are several published deficiency and sufficiency ranges for macro- and micronutrients from early literature. There is a need to assess the accuracy of these ranges on current crop hybrids for this testing to be relied on as a useful tool. The symposium will explore current research on interpreting plant tissue analysis and how we can progress in the future to fill gaps in our knowledge.
