Beginning with Farm Research Analyst and Enhanced Farm Research Analyst, we have used precision ag tools for crop production research since 1997. Most recently PAQ developed a set of tools and processes for laying out and establishing trials in ArcGIS, preparing associated treatment prescription maps, analyzing as-applied maps, mapping field observations, and analyzing harvest maps in the process of conducting research trials. Using GIS to combine data from the latest tools in precision ag including high-accuracy GPS and variable rate controllers for virtually any input, consultants and their farmers can put out a properly developed replicated trial. This poster steps through our setup process, analysis steps, and common deliverables for conducting on-farm research.
