Farmers make agronomic and financial decisions every day in order to run their operations. Historically many of these decisions have been made based on intuition, past experience, or guidance from local agencies. As precision farming equipment becomes commonplace, however, there is an increased desire to use the data produced on the farm to guide future decision making.

This talk outlines the data architecture, software systems, and technologies DuPont Pioneer is using to collect, store, and analyze large volumes of precision agriculture data. A case study will be presented to show how our analysis system leads to new insights and improved decision making throughout a crop growing season.
