  • The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has been partnering with agricultural producers to collect and utilize soil moisture sensor data in concert with California Irrigation Management Information System (CIMIS), crop, irrigation system, and soil profile information. Using these tools to better understand and quantify soil moisture, producers are able to adjust irrigations to maximize crop yield and quality while minimizing water applications that do not benefit the crop and create resource concerns. We will be presenting data, including the soil moisture graphs, for various soil types, crop types and irrigation systems in the San Joaquin Valley.
