Limited studies have examined the chemistry of micronutrients in the semi-arid soils of the Southern High Plains (SHP). This study was conducted to determine plant available (DTPA extractable) Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn over a period of three months in three semi-arid alkaline soils treated with either a mixture of chelated Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn or a mixture of non-chelated salts. Data will be fitted to kinetic models to examine and compare the fixation and elemental interactions as well as provide more insights into the dynamics of chelated and non-chelated micronutrients in these semi-arid alkaline soils of the SHP. Key soil properties affecting micronutrient availability will also be elucidated.
