With the developments of field phenomics, challenges arise in model parameterization and handling a large number of model runs.  This presentation will discuss increasing the speed of automatic model parameter optimization. We used the agricultural system model RZWQM-DSSAT with automatic parameter optimization system PEST as an example. Preliminary results suggest that with a single 8 core computer optimization speed can be increased more than a factor of 10 (from several days to a few hours).
