This talk will review the basic conditions of agriculture in California related to drought, water availability, and soil conditions.  The talk will focus on the effects of drought in the context of larger issues with water and land management in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and California’s overall water balances.  Some inevitable changes for the Delta and California agriculture are identified and discussed.  Regulatory and economic implications are explored.
