The colloquium speaker will present on "Claiming and exploring the lower reaches of soil". The objectives are: 1. To present evidence for a continuum of soil processes deep into the regolith, 2. To describe the challenge of exploring soil genesis and function in the deep regolith, 3. To consider how this challenge might be met, including the potential roles of soil survey.
