179 Symposium--Quantifying Wetland Soil Properties and Functions in Restored and Natural Systems

Oral Session
SSSA Division: Wetland Soils
This joint symposium will focus on the quantification of fundamental relationships among wetland soil morphology, hydroperiod, biogeochemical properties, and wetland functions with an emphasis on applications to wetland creation and restoration. Papers are invited that address one or more aspects of the quantitative and statistical validation of (a) changes over time in wetland soil properties, (b) comparisons between restored/created and natural wetland systems, (c) wetland soil properties as drivers of wetland functions, and (d) methods to evaluate the success of created and restored sites.
