128 Symposium--Evolution of Forest Soil Science: Perspectives and Prospects: I
Oral Session
SSSA Division: Forest, Range & Wildland SoilsThe goal of this symposium is to combine synthesis of longstanding issues in forest soil science with visions of the research needs, opportunities, and approaches that will advance the field over the next decade. We seek speakers who are able to characterize forest soils as a scientific discipline and offer career perspectives on overarching research themes in forest soil science, such as carbon-nutrient interactions, maintaining soil productivity, and soil properties and processes as critical components of whole ecosystem function. We also encourage speakers that will identify major scientific challenges, research questions, and the approaches that will occupy forest soil science in the future
