SSSA Division: Urban and Anthropogenic Soils

Management of rural and urban wastewater is a critical issue in urban and rural areas. Examples of rural wastewater include wastewater originating from septic systems and while urban wastewater is generated by wastewater treatment plants. Typical contaminants of concern in wastewater include nutrients, pathogens, and emerging organic contaminants. The goal of this session is to provide a platform for researchers to discuss impacts of wastewater on groundwater and surface water in urban and rural communities.
