The Women in Agronomy, Crops, Soils and Environmental Sciences committee is sponsoring a luncheon workshop, led by Chavonda Jacobs-Young, first female director of the USDA-ARS, at this year’s WACSES Luncheon on Tuesday, November 4 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The luncheon is an important venue for networking and for gaining strategies to overcome potential obstacles to career success. The goal of the luncheon is to provide opportunities to promote women of all career levels in science and in the Societies. The event allows for networking, the lunch, the presentation of the Mentoring Award, and keynote speaker.  Dr. Jacobs-Young has keen insights that address issues of special concern for professional women in our sciences. Her knowledge gained while breaking barriers will be motivational to all women of science.
