432 Advanced Molecular Techniques Characterizing Soil Biogeochemical Processes: II (Includes Student Competition

Oral Session
SSSA Division: Soil Chemistry
This session aims to bring together scientists who investigate soil nutrient (C, N, P) and trace elements (K and S) biogeochemistry using a variety of advanced techniques that are already in use in soil sciences or are developed in other disciplines that could be used in soil sciences. This includes, but not limited to, techniques such as stable and radioactive isotopes, X-ray absorption techniques, nuclear magnetic spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray microscopy, and other mass spectrometry techniques. As the sensitivity of analytical instruments has improved greatly in the recent years and classical understanding of soil biogeochemistry is redefined, new concepts, applications, and analytical advances on nutrient biogeochemistry are particularly welcome.
