Abstract:
While the Americans with Disabilities Act is intended to make public facilities more accessible, most of our laboratories, and even some of our classrooms still have significant accessibility issues. One of our goals as teachers is to maximize the participation of our students, and to achieve that goal, we must ensure accessibility for all students. Discussed will be some of the basic principles of the Americans with Disabilities Act as it applies to the laboratory and classroom setting. This presentation will also illustrate several quick and simple modifications which can be made in our soils and agronomy facilities which can enhance the education experience for our students.
