Abstract:
The Genome Database for Rosaceae (GDR, www.rosaceae.org) is the community database for basic, translational and applied research in almond, apple, apricot, blackberry, cherry, peach, pear, raspberry, rose and strawberry. Developed using Tripal, an open-source, resource-efficient, standardized platform for biological database construction, it provides an online portal of up to date, curated and integrated genomics, genetics and breeding data, combined with a suite of tools facilitating intuitive data mining and analysis. We highlight the main features of GDR in Tripal from a user perspective and indicate future plans for new functionality, as supported by current USDA and NSF funding through 2019.
