Abstract:
We evaluated the impact of climate and management strategies on yield, soil carbon and nitrate leaching in the Midwest US. More specifically, we examined the consequences of temperature, precipitation, and CO2 changes on irrigated and rain fed continuous corn and corn-soybean rotations in the Midwest USA along with nutrient losses managed with no tillage and conventional tillage, and with and without cover crops.  The model was tested against measured data.
