Abstract:
The Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) has made great strides to increase public communication in the university and community through various events. Of these events, SWCS participates in a workshop hosted by UWSP called College Days for Kids. The goal of this workshop is to inspire children from the community to strive towards higher education while exploring different areas of study that the college has to offer. SWCS uses this workshop as an opportunity to educate the participants on the importance of soil resources. Through educational outreach, SWCS hopes to further improve their professional development while influencing the next generation.
