Abstract:
This report is investigating the potential difference in yield using two planters of the same make and model. The only difference between the two planters is that one planter uses a precision instrument and the other does not. The experiment will be conducted in the same field with consistent soil types. The field is a seed corn field in Tazewell County, Illinois. Data was collected throughout the seed growing season starting with emergence and development following emergence. Data was collected at emergence as well as early growth stages taking in account the height and vigor of plants growing. The “experimental plots” were planted side-by-side throughout the field.
