Abstract:
The various biologically forced processes of mineral weathering are reviewed and organized by soil depth, from processes most often prevalent in surficial A horizons such as nitrification and organic acid dissolution, to processes most potent at great depths such as carbonic acid weathering and biologically mediated redox reactions.
