Abstract:
Soils play a critical role in urban areas from supporting street trees to cleaning stormwater. Urban agriculture is a growing phenomena that is giving city dwellers a chance to get their hands dirty. Urban areas are also the source of feedstocks including food scraps, yard waste and municipal biosolids that can be used to enhance soil physical properties and fertility for urban and peri urban soils.
