Abstract:
More than 12 years ago, the concept that picture elements (pixels) attributes in digital imagery could be explored (or examined) by a population ecology perspective was first formulated. After an intermittent period of frustration, the concept is recently proving highly useful in investigations of agricultural ecosystems.  The benefits of the intersection of population ecology, and (geo-) statistics with image pixels to solve problems in research field experiments will be shown.
