Abstract:
The Oklahoma State University Agronomy Club is committed to promote awareness about crop and soil sciences in the community. This year is particularly special because it is the International Year of the Soil.  To celebrate, we  engaged with  our community to spread the word about the importance that the soil plays in our daily lives.  Our target is engaging our youth because they are the leaders of tomorrow.  The OSU Agronomy Club traveled to elementary schools within the Stillwater, Oklahoma community to demonstrate basic soil properties and processes  to students in the 4th and 5th grade.  By providing the youth in our community with hands-on activities and by talking to them about soil and agriculture, we hope to inspire young students to pursue fields in agriculture.
