94 Fate and Transport of Agrochemicals, Microbes, and Nutrients in Biochar-Amended Soils: I
Oral Session
ASA Section: Environmental QualityFate and Transport of Agrochemicals, Contaminants, and Microorganisms in Biochar-amended Soils. I. This oral session will bring together researchers studying all facets of the interactions (including sorption, degradation, and transformation processes) affecting the fate and transport of various agrochemicals, microorganisms, and other potential contaminants in biochar-amended soils. Topics include investigating the mechanisms involved in these interactions; how biochar may be used to protect the environment and public health; and how biochar can affect important soil properties that influence the fate and transport of these important water-quality constituents through soil including: cation exchange capacity, anion exchange capacity, hydrophobicity, pore structure, water holding capacity, and surface area.
