Organic tomatoes, squash, and bell peppers were grown on raised beds with 0, .22, .66 and 1.1 lbs./sq.ft. of compost added to each treatment. Plots were 100 square feet and were triplicated in a random plot design. A rye/hairy vetch cover was planted in Fall, 2007 and rye plant height and biomass were measured on the plots in May, 2008.  Tomato, squash, and bell pepper were planted after crimping down the green cover in late May, 2008. Soil testing was conducted prior to planting.  Plants were rated visually based on color, height and overall health. Crop weight was determined from the middle of the plots during harvest to determine yield.  Statistical analysis was conducted to determine affects of compost and soil parameters on yield.
