In 2001, Tam 94L-25 was chemically mutated with EMS. The M2 generation was grown in Lubbock, TX, in 2002. More than 1200 M3 plants were grown in College Station in 2004. Twenty five M4 lines were selected on the basis of fiber traits in 2006 and grown in a replicated trial in 2007. Results from this trial indicated significant variation for lint yield, fiber qualities, and other morphological traits. The experiment was repeated in 2008.
