Winter canola production in North Carolina may be a viable crop option for farmers.  It is necessary to determine optimal production practices prior to production and market development.  In the 2009-2010 growing season we conducted variety trials at two locations.  There were 16 varieties assessed.  Fertility studies that examined organic (poultry litter) and inorganic nitrogen (urea) sources were completed at three locations.  A tillage system (till vs. no-till) experiment was conducted at one location.  The results are presented.
