Phosphate rock is the main raw material used for the production of phosphate fertilizers. Phosphate rock is a finite non-renewable resource. Under Phase I of the IFDC Phosphate Resources and Research Initiative, an independent preliminary estimate of world phosphate rock reserves and resources was developed.
