Two studies were conducted at University of Kentucky Research Stations in 2010-2011 reviewing wheat planting in conjunction with previous corn residue to determine optimal row spacings.  The first study examines wide rows (15” spacing), ultra narrow rows (3.75” spacing) and a control row spacing (7.5” spacing) with and without corn residue to examine the differences between row spacing and a no-till planting scenario.  The goal of this study is to review row spacing compatibility with planting equipment and existing residues.  The second study examines the yield scenario when wheat is planted into corn residue at various angles versus adjacent to previous corn rows at the various row spacings.  Seeding rates were also factored given the various row spacings.  Data analysis and yield results to be determined.
