John Reganold, Crop and Soil Sciences, Washington State University, Pullman, WA
Dr. John Doran has been so inspirational and productive in the areas of soil quality and sustainable agriculture. Many of my studies have measured the effects of alternative and conventional farming systems on soil quality and other sustainability indicators. Using 25 years of data from my farming system studies, I will discuss soil health, crop quality, profitability, and environment quality on organic, biodynamic, integrated, and conventional farms. Farming system studies were conducted using commercial farms as replicated treatments or replicated treatments on a commercial farm.
