A Look At Southern Nevada's Soil Moisture Sites During Rainfall Events; SNOTEL, SCAN and the Desert Research Institute SEPHAS Lysimeters.

This talk examines soil moisture data collected from both NRCS SCAN and SNOTEL climate sites to soil moisture data collected from DRI SEPHAS Lysimeter probes.  These sites are assessed as a function of climate on soil formation and moisture regimes. This will focus on the specific storm events that occurred in the Las Vegas Valley during December 2010 as a way to observe the effects of episodic water movement in soil profiles from storm events in different soil moisture regimes within the southern Nevada region.
