Historical phenotypic data from uniform performance nurseries organized by USDA-ARS can be used for association mapping. In this presentation, we compare QTL identified using such historic data to those identified using phenotypes from a balanced design, and to QTL identified by association mapping in lines derived from the National Plant Germplasm System for the trait beta-glucan content.
