To estimate the total amounts of purified and discharged pollutants in Boknae Biopark and Sinpyongcheon constructed wetlands (CWs), the pollutants balances of BOD, T-N and T-P were investigated. Boknae Biopark and Sinpyungcheon CWs are a free water surface constructed wetlands (FWS CWs) to treat the discharged water from the sewage treatment plants and the inflow water from nearby farmlands at rainfall events. The total load amount of BOD in Boknae Biopark and Sinpyungcheon CWs were 294.0 and 161.8 kg area-1 year-1, respectively. The amounts of purified BOD in Boknae Biopark CWs in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th areas were 39.1, 31.9, 64.5, 6.7 and 19.6 kg area-1 year-1, respectively. And the amounts of purified BOD in 1st, 2nd and 3rd areas in Sinpyungcheon CWs were 36.1, 19.2 and 34.4 kg area-1 year-1, respectively. The amount of discharged BOD in outflow in Boknae Biopark and Sinpyungcheon CWs were 182.1 and 72.2 kg, respectively. The total load amount of T-N in Boknae Biopark and Sinpyungcheon CWs were 1,536.3 and 492.0 kg area-1 year-1, respectively. The amounts of purified T-N were 572.6 kg area-1 year-1 for 1st area, 333.3 kg area-1 year-1 for 2nd area, 391.2 kg area-1 year-1 for 3rd area, 12.1 kg area-1 year-1 for 4th area, and 67 kg area-1 year-1 for 5th area in Boknae Biopark. The amounts of purified T-N in 1st, 2nd and 3rd areas in Sinpyungcheon CWs were -58.6, 193.6 and 161.9 kg area-1 year-1, respectively. The amount of discharged T-N in Boknae Biopark and Sinpyungcheon CWs were 160.1 and 195.0 kg area-1 year-1, respectively. The total load amount of T-P in Boknae Biopark and Sinpyungcheon CWs were 136.6 and 13.5 kg area-1 year-1, respectivley. The amounts of purified T-P in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th areas in Boknae Biopark CWs were 40.3, 55.9, 16.5, 10.2 and 5.5 kg area-1 year-1, respectively. And the amounts of purified T-P in Sinpyungcheon CWs were -7.1 kg area-1 year-1 for 1st area, -3.6 kg area-1 year-1 for 2nd area and 15.0 kg area-1 year-1 for 3rd area. The amount of discharged T-N in Boknae Biopark and Sinpyungcheon CWs from the wetland were 8.2 and 9.2 kg area-1 year-1.
