Hydrahume is a mixture of organic (humic) acids.  Past published research has shown the role humic acids can play in stabilizing nitrogen not from affecting biological transformations, but instead by chemical chelation or cation/anion exchange mechanisms.  All ore sources have different compositions and therefore perform these task at different effcieicies.  This will review 3 years of data showing decreases in nitrate leaching 30 and 60 DAT over several soil types from 10-25% in soil applied UAN and urea.  In addition, reductions in ammonia volatilization from surface applied urea and poultry manure will be shown.
