342 Linked Non-Linear Processes at the Soil/Plant/Atmosphere Continuum

Oral Session
S01 Soil Physics Various mass and energy transport processes in the unsaturated zone are complex, linked, and nonlinear. Predicting total water transport within the vadose zone requires a profound understanding of the coupling between microscopic water flow processes toward roots and the controls exerted by plants on water flow toward the atmosphere. This session seeks developments on theory, measurement, and modeling efforts to strengthen our understanding on linked nonlinear processes associated with soil/water/plant interactions at different space and time scales, and for bare and arable soils under different ecosystems.
