S05 Pedology Spatial predictions of soil and crop-specific properties and processes are relevant to respond to critical research questions including food security, climate change, carbon sequestration, and ecosystem services. This symposium will synthesize research of ASA-CSSA-SSSA scientists engaged in geospatial and spatially-explicit predictions of biogeochemical properties and processes in soils, crops, and various agro/forest/urban/wetland ecosystems. Spatial ecosystem models are the foundation for a Green Revolution 2.0 fostering conservation and environmental stewardship in a low carbon economy based on transformative and enlightening science that model the soil-landscape continuum under various environmental stressors including population growth, land use and climate change.
